Developing a Learner-Centered Lecture: A Rapid Prototyping Workshop In-Person / Online

Are you interested in creating learner-centered experience but unsure where or how to begin? This may be the workshop for you! This 50-minute workshop walks participants through a series of rapid prototyping exercises to transform a didactic lecture into a learner-centered lecture. Through a series of interactive exercises, including outlining, brainstorming and reflection participants will create an active learning lecture that participants can apply in future teaching contexts while also adding to a personal toolkit if active learning strategies that can be adopted across disciplines and learning environments.

- Define four qualities of learner-centered teaching
- Describe several learner-centered or active learning strategies
- Create a learner-centered lecture with a rapid prototyping template
