Responsible use of artificial intelligence in evidence synthesis In-Person / Online

Facilitator: Paul Hunter, MLIS

As artificial intelligence (AI) tools become increasingly integrated into research workflows, their role in evidence synthesis (ES), including systematic reviews and scoping reviews, is currently under scrutiny. This workshop is designed to offer faculty an overview of how AI could be incorporated in the context of evidence synthesis publications.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • AI elements that authors should (or could) convey transparency, and evaluate for validity and usefulness, before incorporating them into ES processes.
  • Possible strategies for information consumers to assess the transparency and impact of AI-generated outputs in published ES literature.
  • Examples of AI integration at select stages of the ES lifecycle, highlighting both opportunities and limitations.
