Umbrella Reviews: Get to Know an Evidence Synthesis Method Online

Facilitators: Gary Kaplan, MS and Tingting Zhan, PhD

Systematic Reviews have been a popular project type for student projects. But faculty and students often struggle to define an appropriate research question that has neither too much nor too little available evidence. The umbrella review, aka review-of-reviews, may be a better fit for some projects. Learn about the methods and how the Jefferson Libraries and Division of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Cancer Biology, SKMC, can support them.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Compare and contrast umbrella reviews to other types of reviews
2. Explain when an umbrella review would be more appropriate
3. Identify local Jefferson expertise, software, and resources
